Kitchen Share is open Saturdays, 10:30-noon.
Recognizing the vital part the availability of kitchen tools offers to our community, we are striving to remain open Saturdays throughout Fall/Winter. This is only possible through new protocols and your cooperation. Please read thoroughly so we can continue to remain open.
RESERVING KITCHEN SHARE ITEMS
The library is not open for browsing due to the ongoing pandemic and the safety of volunteers and other borrowers. To reserve an item, please log into our site, look through our inventory and when you find something you'd like to reserve, click the reserve button. You will only see a reserve button if you are logged in. Anyone can become a member on their own by registering.
On the Saturday you're scheduled to pick up, please come by yourself to limit the number of people in contact, wear a mask and maintain distance from other people in line. Depending on the weather, we may be set up outside with your items, or we may be inside, in which case you'll follow instructions on the chalkboard and always maintain 6' of distance between you and the volunteer by listening to their instructions.
Kitchen Share SE is a free kitchen tool library dedicated to promoting sustainability, equity and self-sufficiency for residents of Southeast Portland, Oregon. Kitchen Share SE builds community through the sharing of skills and food.
Going beyond the neighborly cup of sugar, Kitchen Share SE will be a place where community members can borrow equipment and share in the joy of processing, preserving, and serving food. We hope to offer dehydrators, cider presses, canning equipment, ice-cream makers, food processors, bread makers, and more. We plan to grow into a community supported kitchen where we can share our culinary skills, nourish our bodies with healthy local food, and collaborate on projects.
This is a community directed initiative and this Spring is a great time for you to share your input and help make this vision a reality.
